Day 10: Mr. Turner

Americas are full of trees and many other wonders. I have seen Indians roam around the area. I hope tomorrow I will be able to get a closer look at their lifestyle. They dress in animal skin with their long dark hair in braids. They haven’t noticed our arrival, but I hope we won’t run into any problems. However, this is our new land that we discovered. timurjin [86]

Answer:

The answer is :

<u>"It allowed Allied forces to strike at a less defended Southern Europe."</u>

Explanation:

At first <u>TORCH</u>, as the operation was called, had no specific military objective other than to effect a lodgment in French North Africa and to open the Mediterranean to Allied shipping. It progressed mainly from a demand for early action against the European members of the Axis, and was mainly designed to ease the pressure on the hard-pressed Soviet armies and check the threatened advance of German power into the Middle East.
