The Puritans are a group of Protestant Christians who migrated from England and came to settle in the New World. They are a group who were unsatisfied with the Church of England's ways, claiming it to be corrupt and behaviorally wrong and too influenced with the Roman Catholic way of belief.
The Puritans' main ideal was to purify the Church of England against the Catholic influence. They were dissatisfied with the Church's toleration of some of the practices associated with the Roman Catholic Church. In the Puritan society, the laws and any rules to govern the society are made by the church members, for they are basically overlooked by the Christian faith. Christian Protestantism is the ruling factor for these Puritans. Therefore, it is most likely that the church ministers established the governing laws in Puritan society.
