Write a paragraph on why food is important in the body

English

Explanation:

The most obvious reason would be to keep us alive. Every living thing needs to take in nutrients and calories for growth and repair and to keep metabolic processes functioning. However, I’m guessing you are looking for a more creative response than that.

Food is important because it literally makes up every part of us. We are made of what we eat. The quality of our structure, down to the cellular level depends on the quality of the food we take in on a daily basis. It constantly astonishes me that food is so important to our very existence and people give little to no thought about it. I mean, would you rather be built out of McDonald’s or vegetables grown in your own garden?

Third, food is important because it is the cornerstone of culture. Every country, every region, around the world has its own food. People have adapted to their surroundings, depending on what is most available, and these food traditions are passed down from one generation to the next. Traditional foods tend to be healthful as well, because processed food is a relatively new advent. Think of a culture and what comes to mind first? I’m guessing their traditional food is probably at least in the top 5.

In case my first and second reasons are a little too similar, here is a bonus reason. Food is important because real, whole food contains nutrients in their natural form and their intended ratios. No vitamin can replicate the exact formulation that nature has provided in the fresh foods we eat. I used to think it was possible to survive on vitamins and minerals alone. I mean, why else do we need food except for the raw materials that it provides? I never actually did this experiment, but now I understand that nature has plenty of secrets up her sleeve and I could never formulate a vitamin regimen that could come close to what she has already done for us.

Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

Based on part two of "Trifles", the symbolism behind the uneven stitching in Mrs. Wright's otherwise perfect quilt indicates that she:

4. was agitated or distracted by something during her quilting.

Explanation:

"Trifles" is a short play by Susan Glaspell. Filled with symbolism, the story concerns the death of Mr. Wright and the accusation of his wife. The Sheriff, a Count Attorney, and Mr. Hale go around the house looking for evidence that may reveal a motive - the reason why Mrs. Wright would kill her husband. While they do it, Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters (the Sheriff's wife) stay in the kitchen. Although constantly criticized by the men for paying attention to trifles - little things -, it is the women who find the evidence which reveals the motive. However, they choose to not tell the men.

<u>Among the several things the two women find, and that function as symbols in the story, there is a quilt. Mrs. Wright was good at making quilts, and this one is perfectly made with the exception of one part. This part's stitching is uneven, so different from the rest that Mrs. Hale quickly grasps its meaning. She wonders what Mrs. Wright was nervous about to have sewed like that. The quilt indicates Mrs. Wright was agitated, unfocused.</u>

Compare and contrast the literary techniques of allegory and ambiguity by offering a scenario to explain an instance where each
omeli [17]

Allegory is a literary technique in which <em>a message or an idea is conveyed through a metaphor.</em> An allegory usually tells a story that is<em> a metaphor for real-world issues or complex ideas.</em> Allegories have been used throughout the history of art because they can make complex concepts comprehensible. These hidden or <em>complex meanings are symbolized by events, actions, figures or images. </em>

George Orwell's work <em>"Animal farm"</em> can be considered an <em>example of Allegory</em>. The work tells the story of animals in a farm that, trying to create a utopic society for themselves, are engaged in <em>corruption and betrail conflicts that symbolize real political conflicts</em> in the Communist Revolution of Russia. Orwell creates characters who are apparently just animals on a farm, to symbolize and represent his critics and points of view regarding the revolution. The animals represent human weaknesses and, their actions, human corruption.

Ambiguity is another literary technique, very different from an allegory. Works written using ambiguity are<em> based on inexactness, they are open to more than one interpretation.</em> Instead of representing a specific story or message, or trying to convey a specific idea, a<em>mbiguity creates a puzzle that can never be solved.</em> It generates reflection and it leaves a doubt in the air. The ambiguity is usually expressed <em>through a statement, and sometimes even carried by just a word</em>, instead of being held by an entire story with situations and figures. A statement or word that ties the knot to create a puzzle or vagueness is enough to evoke an ambiguity. Although, it can be a tool to build a character or to base a story on.

An example of ambiguity can be found in the <em>first line of the poem Ode to a Grecian Urn</em>, by John Keats. The poem says “Thou <em>still</em> unravish’d bride of quietness…”. Here, the word "still" can be understood<em> as something that doesn't move</em>, therefore is still, or <em>something that hasn't been changed yet</em>. The <em>ambiguity can't be solved</em>, so it creates a meaning that is open and that can be changed.

Chapters 1 5 1. Does Huck seem to have more faith in superstition or religion? Provide sound
miskamm [114]
I would say it is superstition. Huck wants or prefers the wonder and creativity of superstition. Huck just doesn't get the foolishness, silliness and hyprocrisy of an organized Christianity. He is able to connect specific occurrences in his life to superstition rather than the  religion.
The severe Miss Watson and gaunt is the most protuberant.representative of the ethical values and hypocritical religious Twain criticizes in the novel. The Widow Douglas is gentler in her beliefs and has more patience with the mischievous Huck.
The boy is exploring adolescence and it is a time of self-discovery. This is when the children test the boundaries of what they have come to accept. Huck does not take face value in the society. Twain picked a perfect age to develop his protagonist.
