In April 1815, Tambora volcano in Indonesia erupted which killed more than 60 thousand people. It had an adverse effect on the environment and climate . It turned summer into winter as it blocked out the sun and lead to the summer snow in most European countries.
During the year, a massive volcanic eruption took place at the Mount Tambora located at Indonesia, which is considered to be one of the largest volcanic eruption ever recorded. It released a huge amount of pyroclastic materials, pumice and other gases, including aerosols, that were trapped in the atmosphere for quite a period of time as a result of which the sunlight was not able to penetrate and reach the ground surface.
Due to this reason, there was a mini-ice age where there was an absence of summer, which led to low sunspot activity.
