Well a start would be to show what Douglass's perspective of slavery was. for example, he thought it was wrong and unfair that a lot of them didn't know when they where born or whernt treated like other regular people. and as for captain canot, he thought slavery was a good thing and he supported it. then build off that with info from the book, or in my case for captain canot, i have to find his story in my online session since im in k12. but if u need anything else, u can ask me. plus i have the same exact thing that is due today. good luck

Douglass wants you to see the extreme change Mrs. Auld went through. Once she had helped Douglass learn to read. Later, she changed her mind about his education and grew angry and cruel toward him. She forbid him from reading anything. Douglass' message is that slavery had negative effects on everyone who was involved with it. This is the exact answer for the question but the other persons answer works perfectly.

Read the poem below and answer the question that follows.
Viktor [21]

The theme of this poem is this:

 • Remain humble no matter how experienced you think you are at something.
 • Imagery helps the reader to visualize everything that transpired in the pitch. For instance, in these lines, "Ten thousand eyes were on him as he rubbed his hands with dirt;" and "He pounds with cruel violence his bat upon the plate," the reader can better feel and sense the tension in the air as Casey arrived to play.

What is the theme of a poem?

When asked to find the theme of a poem, we are required to determine the main lesson that should be taken from the reading of the poem.

In the poem above, we can see how overconfidence contributed to the mighty fall of Casey. His arrogance made him ignore the rules of the game that aided his tumultuous defeat.

So, the life lesson that is derived from this is that we must never become proud no matter our level of achievement in life.
