Answer:

Slavery was profitable

Explanation:

Slaves worked on plantations, where they weren't paid. Thus, this allowed the slave owners to gain money without actually having to physically work on their own plantations.

Slavery was profitable because in the south slaves worked hard for very little or no pay meaning the owner didn't pay any "employees".

Which consequence did marchers experience?
Talja [164]
Police violence should be the best answer. There are all types of marchers, marching for different things. There would only be a lack of support from other citizens if those marches weren’t agreed with by the majority, basically saying that some marches had support from others. A repeal of voting legislation is definitely not the answer, as a march is not enough to strip someone’s voting rights away, no matter what time period we’re speaking of. A lack of nation television coverage could be a near answer, as some marches may be seen unimportant and therefore not being televised. But as the question directs to marchers experiences, and not a certain march, this wouldn’t be right. By using order of elimination, the only available, and reasonable answer would be police violence, as many marches are seen as public disorder, and therefore treated by the law. Most of the time, these marches are made to disrupt, and polices mostly respond with brutality or brute.

Unlike Portuguese explorers, Columbus believed that he could get to Asia more quickly by sailing west rather than east.
The Portuguese searched for Asia going west, sailing around the southern tip of Africa, whereas Columbus went west, which is the reason he came across America whilst searching for India.

what conflict does whyte see between the american value of individualism and the fact of organization life?
jeka94

Answer:

According to the text The Organization Man written by William H. Whyte, Jr., the conflict between American individualism and life in the organization is that individualism preaches that man should be responsible for his achievements, but life in the organization causes the individual to depend on other individuals to achieve some achievement.

Explanation:

William H. Whyte, Jr. describes life in the organization as a group of middle-class individuals who have a stable life that depends on the joint work of several people and that this joint work allows this economic and social stabilization. However, this set of individuals must be maintained, since the success of one depends on the work of the other. This goes entirely against American individualism, which encouraged each individual to pursue their own rise, whether social or economic, or even academic. This generates a conflict in the values of society that can generate contradictory concepts that show that you must be responsible for your success, however, you can see people who have a good life and are not the only ones responsible for their success.
