Martin Luther king believed in peaceful means of protesting, popularly known as civil disobedience. There is a probability that he was heavily influenced by the ideas and philosophies of Indian nationalists leaders Gandhi. He also won a Nobel peace prize for advocating such a method of protests amidst mounting hostility.
