“the wife’s lament” If the husband were to return, do you think the wife would be welcoming? Explain

English

Yes, I believe she would be welcoming. Even though the last part of the poem sounds like a curse ("May the young man be sad-minded with hard heart-thoughts"), it is still a statement of the speaker's enduring love for him. She suffers, but imagines that he suffers too, in the exile or wherever he is, and remembers their happy days with sorrow. Her depression has elements of embitteredness, but her love for him is not disputable.

Which of the following quotes indicates omitted text? (5 points) Group of answer choices "You could go crazy thinking of how pub
joja [24]

Answer:

D). "You could go crazy thinking of how unprivate our lives really are. . .the porous state of our Internet selves, the trail of electronic crumbs we leave every day," says New Yorker journalist Susan Orlean.

Explanation:

As per the question, the last quotation signals omission of text as it involves the use of ellipsis which is 'a sequence of three dots(. . .) functioning to indicate the deliberate omission of text without altering its actual meaning.' Therefore, the three consecutive dots in the last option indicates that certain elements from the actual quotation has been intentionally omitted by the author which he might have found less relevant to explain the given idea. This assists the author to attract the audience's attention towards the key aspect of the idea and present the information briefly and comprehensively. Thus, option D is the correct answer.
