Folklore can be described as the dissemination of any type of information through oral communication or through leading by example. This information will represent the collective ideas of a certain group of people and can be transmitted through mediums such as literature or knowledge. Nowadays the world has morphed into a technologically advanced sphere where all information can be acquired at the touch of a button. This however doesn't change the definition of folklore, it only changes the medium through which we share the information.
The controversial case received national attention beginning in the fall of 1992, when it was featured in the CBS News program 60 Minutes. Two books have been written on the case, including Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, which was adapted into a feature film of the same name in which Jamie Foxx portrays McMillian.
