Further Explanation:

A hinge joint is a kind of a synovial joint that present in the body and provides movement mainly in one plane. Mainly the hinge joint is composed of three or more bones with an articular exterior that is enclosed by lubricated by synovial fluid and hyaline cartilage. Each hinge joint is stable by ligaments, muscles, and connective tissue known as joint capsules.

The hinge joints present in the knee, elbow, and ankle. The most simple hinge joints present in between the phalanges of toes and fingers are called interphalangeal joints. The hinge joint is an important part of the biomechanics of the body. They allow extension and flexion in one plane with a small degree of movement in other planes. The elbow, ankle and knee help in supporting the large amount of force and work. The hinge joint provides less mobility but they are more stable than a socket and ball joint.
