True

The first read through for subject content is to simply identify what you do and do not know. This read through gives you a basic understand of what the reading is about and the general organization of content. You quickly discern what is known information and what is unknown. This allows you to pay closer attention and absorb the new information during subsequent readings.

1. Are Johnny and Ponyboy heroes given that they were responsible for setting the church fire? Explain your response.
VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

It is unknown what caused the fire. Some say that some kids played with a match or that it was a cigarette that Johnny or Ponyboy didn't put out. Johnny and Ponyboy help to save some schoolchildren from the burning church. When they try to get out, a piece of timber falls on top of Johnny, breaking his back.
