I have no idea about Heian period in japan but you can start writing how they dressed . how they paticipated in their societies . how they thought . what was their rol . and if you write one or two line for each, I mean explain each of the subjects for both types if women ,you'll have one page of an essay

They actually played a pretty important role in early civilizations. For one, building a major urban civilization takes a lot of work.
