What Paine aimed to illustrate in this fragment of his book Common Sense was the force of the group of men described.

Thomas Paine's Common Sense was directed to the inhabitants of America right before the revolution started, specially to the very numerous middle class, and instigated them to revolt against the English ruling. He explained the negative impacts of the British ways and how their dominance was unecessary. The American population should not be paying taxes to the Brithish or obey their rules. So he asked Americans to come into action and break the British system, which means, to truly start a revolution.

The whole book tries to call upon the force and the strenght of the Americans to initiate a rebellion against the oppresors and to trigger the end of an era. Actually, Thomas Paine (1737-1809) is one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.

In the excerpt, Paine compares a deluge—a torrential downpour—to the actions of a group of men to illustrate their force.

Thomas Paine didn’t agree with the fact that Great Britain has always benefited the colonies and will ever benefit them in the future. Author’s views on this can be summarized from his lines that "Nothing can be more fallacious than this..." he is against the fact that Great Britain should be believed as a benefited in the future too. He opposes the fact that it will provide security and protection to the colonized countries.

Give one Beautiful and meaningful passage or quote from The Kite Runner ch 12. Then explain why this passage/quote is important?
Tems11 [23]

Answer:

I waited until Baba fell asleep, and then folded a blanket. I used it as a prayer rug. Bowing my head to the ground, I recited half-forgotten verses from the Koran verses the mullah had made us commit to memory in Kabul and asked for kindness from a God I wasn’t sure existed. I envied the mullah now, envied his faith and certainty.

maks197457 [2]

This question is about the book "little women"

Answer and Explanation:

I identify most with Beth March, as she has a personality very similar to mine. Beth is quiet and shy, she is somewhat anti-social, but she likes to be with people who know how to develop a good conversation. In addition, Beth is not very fond of doing housework and does not believe that this is the obligation of women, as I think. In addition, she cares about the feelings of others and does not want to make anyone sad, which is the characteristic very similar to me.

Among the girls, the one I least identify with is Meg, I do not share her romantic ideals, nor her position on the role of women in the world. I don't think she's wrong, but I believe that we have different personalities, but that they could get along well.

Which statement is true? The elegy in ancient Greece included choral songs that accompanied Greek dramas. The ode and the elegy
Tamiku [17]

Answer:

An ode and an elegy may have different poetic structures.

Explanation:

Ode and elegies are both forms of lyric poetry that emerged in Ancient Greece, however, they differ in some aspects. Firstly, odes are mainly to praise or recognize the goals achieved by someone or some event, on the other hand, elegies are used to recognize the life of someone who died or to express the mourning for the death of someone. Additionally, both forms of lyrical poetry or stanza differ on their structures, while odes are divided into three major parts the strophe, the antistrophe and the epode, that consisted on different sections with different verse structures or irregular stanzas. On the other hand, the elegy structure consisted on hexameter verses that are verse composed by six feet (combination of two, three or four syllables), followed by pentameter verses, which are verses with ten feet. Thus, the poetic structure of the ode and elegy are different as odes have irregular structures but elegies follow a combination of hexameter and pentameter verses.
