In the first section of Beowulf, which part is the most clearly the rising action?
Oksana_A [137]

If you study the first part, it seems like when Beowulf faces Grendel and in their fight Grendel loses one of his arms, this part is most clearly the rising action as the rest of the story actually carries the effect of this early fight. It is also the most exciting given the condition that Grendel’s mother is such a powerful entity who surely will be ready for the revenge.

Use the drop-down menus to identify the case of the underlined pronoun in each example.(subjective, objective or possessive)
wolverine [178]

Answer:

1. Hers - possessive case

2. them - objective case

3. they - subjective case

Explanation:

In grammar, the case is a form that a noun/pronoun takes in a sentence, which is determined by its function in a sentence. If a noun/pronoun is the subject of a sentence, its case is subjective. This can be seen in the third example, where 'they' is the subject of the sentence "They went to bed."  Similarly, if it is the object of the sentence, the case is objective (as "them" in the second sentence). When it possesses something, its case is possessive. Possessive case pronouns are  <em>"mine," "yours," "his," "hers"</em> (as in the first sentence)<em>, "its," "ours," and "theirs."</em>
