From what I'm understanding of these questions, the biggest thing you need to answer these is the formulas for cylinders and triangular prisms. I'm not sure what the quantities are for either question so I'm going to work with made up numbers to give examples for the formulas. For number 2 with the cylinder, let's consider the formula first:

π × r2 × h    OR    pi (3.14) times radius squared times height

If you have the height and you have pi, all you need to take is the doubled radius (aka multiply it by 2) and plug that back into the formula. For the sake of an example, I'm going to make up the number 2 for the radius and 6 for the height. Here's what that would look like:

r = 2; double it, resulting in 4

pi x 4^2 x 6

3.14 x 16 x 6

= 301.44

Work with the actual numbers you have and you're good to go.

For number 3, reducing something by 1/2 means dividing by 2. Let's consider the formula and then work through another example:

1/2 x b x h x l   OR    1/2 times base times height times length

For the sake of an example, I'll use 10 for the height, 15 for the base, and 20 for the length:

h = 10; reduce by 1/2, resulting in 5

1/2 x 15 x 5 x 20

= 750

Plug in your actual quantities, and remember your volume units. Hope this helps!

You damage your car and it will cost $2,700 to repair. You have a $500 deductible. How much will the insurance company pay? A.$5
artcher [175]

Answer:

After finding the money we were short with, we find that Option-b, that is, $2200 is the correct option.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the cost to repair the damaged car is $2700. We have $500.

Insurance company is a company that gives the payment of someone's valuable items when they are lost or get damaged. For example, home insurance, car insurance, life insurance and much more.

Here we can see that we are short with $2700 - $500 = $2200.

So, to complete the payment, insurance company will pay $2200.

Clearly, the correct option is Option-b.

A porch has the shape of a quarter circle. If the porch was a complete circle it would have a diameter of 5 ft. What is the appr
Sladkaya [172]
Normally, to find the area of a circle you'd do π × r^{2} so you have to find the radius by dividing 5 by 2 to get 2.5. Approximating pi as 3.14, you would do 3.14 × 2.5^{2} = 19.625. Because the porch is a quarter circle, you would then divide this by 4 to get 4.906. Rounded to the nearest square foot, your answer would therefore be 5 ft. I hope this helps!

A bookstore costs $96 a day to keep open, and it spends $12 for each book that it sells. If each book sells for $18, what is the
asambeis [7]

Answer: The break even point is when they have sold 16 books and have made $288

Step-by-step explanation: The costs are modeled in the equation y = 12x + 96. x is the number of books sold.

The earnings are modeled by he equation y = 18x.

Substitute 18x for y and solve for x.

18x = 12x + 96  Subtract 12x from both sides.

6x = 96 Divide both sides by 6

x = 16

Substitute into the original equations to solve for y

y = 12(16) + 96

y = 192 + 96

Y = 288

y = 18(16)

y = 288
