Correct the sentence below:

English
1 answer:
Jet001 [13]3 years ago
8 0

Answer:

The correct option is E

Explanation:

Option A is wrong because there should be two companies needed for a merger, but this option makes it look like it's just one company "gas and electric company is". For example, Procter and Gamble company is not a merger.

Option B is also wrong because if it is a merger then "are" in "and electric companies are" makes it wrong.

Option C has the same error as option B

Option D has the same error as option B

Option E is the correct option because it eliminates the error in Option A; the merger of the nation's leading "gas company and electric company " and also eliminates the error in option B, C, and D, replacing "are" with "is".

Which sentence uses verb tense correctly ? They enjoyed a snack and then finished their homework.
Monica [59]

If the sentence is They enjoyed a snack and then finished their homework the tense is correct in both parts. You are giving two finished actions in a sequence one after the other, which is correct. You join the two parts by using then, which is also right. What I think could make it better would be to use the personal pronoun they again as in: They enjoyed a snack and then they finished their homework

Eddi Din [679]

The Declaration of Independence is the document which explains why the original thirteen colonies declared independence from the British crown. The Declaration of Sentiments is modeled on the Declaration of Independence. In the Declaration of Sentiments it lists the grievances of women against men. It explains why there should be a women's rights movement. It is considered the founding document of American feminism. Declaration of independence was an outline for patient sufferance for the colonies as a whole and the declaration of sentiment was an outline for patient sufferance for women under the government.

Pavel [41]

Answer: Marriage

Explanation:

From the passage it is shown that women are to be subservient to men and this was imposed by limiting their education and career choices which are ways of empowering women to break free of patriarchal control.

As marriage is the main way that a woman can be tethered to a man, it stands to reason that women had a lack of independence when it came to their marriage and this is shown by Queen Elizabeth choosing to remain unmarried so that she does not lose her authority as the monarch of England in marriage.

Which line in this passage uses the logical fallacy of hasty generalization
alina1380 [7]
I am not sure what your options for this question are, but I can give you some pointers for the fallacy of hasty generalization that may help. Hasty generalization involves drawing a conclusion that is based upon a very small sample size, therefore using statistics in a faulty way and essentially jumping to conclusions. For example, you have a large population of, say, 1000 participants. You take a very small sample, of say 15 participants, from this population. You then draw all of your conclusions based on this small segment of the larger population. Hope this helps.

Answer:

After a brief period of suspense, the will of my mistress was read, and we learned that she had bequeathed me to her sister's daughter, a child of five years old.

- Notwithstanding my grandmother's long and faithful service to her owners, not one of her children escaped the auction block.
