What did Spain do after the American Revolution to discourage American settlements west of the Appalachian Mountains?
Lynna [10]
The answer is letter A.
Spain placed a heavy-tariff on American-made goods. This occurred after the signing of the Second Treaty of Paris in 1783 that marked the end of the American Revolution. Spain was the main colonizers of the Louisiana and Texas states during those days and they were blocking the mouth of Mississippi to foreigners preventing them to sell their crops. Guns and ammunition were also sold to native Americans that were part of this colonization and tariffs were implemented highly to prevent further selling of goods and for Spain to fully monopolize the trade industry.

Marianna [84]
To win the war, the South had only to survive. On the other hand, for the North to win, the Union had to be restored. Thus, Union forces had to conquer the South in order to win the war. ... One result was that Southern civilians probably had to make more real sacrifices during the war than Northern civilians did.

How did merchants help trade to grow on the Arabian Peninsula?
diamong [38]

Explanation:

The regions conquered in the Muslim conquest included rich farming regions in the Maghreb, the Nile Valley and the Fertile Crescent. As is true of the world as a whole, agriculture dominated the economy until the modern period, with livestock grazing playing a particularly large role in the Arab world. Significant trade routes included the Silk Road, the spice trade, and the trade in gold, salt, slaves and luxury goods including ivory and feathers out of sub-Saharan Africa.
