Answer:

In the rising action, both men are subjugated by the force of nature after being trapped by the falling tree causing them to develop an understanding of one another's position.

Explanation:

Enemies for life, both characters and their families had been fighting over a piece of land for decades. In the particular night of the events, Von Gradwitz and Znaeym stand facing each other on what it will prove to be the final showdown. Ironically, the two men end up trapped after a branch is hit by lightning. This specific event develops a type of communication between the two sworn enemies who, at the beginning, seem reluctant, yet end up accepting that their quarrel is banal and inconsistent.

Which phrase from the "The Bells” best conveys the mood of lines 70-94?
lidiya [134]

Answer: melancholy menace.

Explanation:

In his poem,<em>''The Bells''</em>, Poe associates different types of bells with the feelings they evoke in him. He first describes the silver bells of the sleds, which are merry. He proceeds with the golden bells of weddings, that bring peaceful happiness. There is a change in tone, however, when Poe introduces the brazen alarm bells that scream in the night and bring horror and anger. Finally, the iron bells are melancholy and announce death, sadness and pain. This is best reflected in line 75:  ''<em>At the melancholy menace of their tone!''</em>
