What act removed the barriers of voting 1965 and increased the participation of black voters?
enot [183]
The act is called the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

This act, signed into law by Lyndon B. Johnson, helped to remove legal barriers that African-Americans faced when it came to voting. For example, African-Americans were unfair targets of things like literacy tests, poll taxes, and the grandfather clause. All three of these barriers were put in place to limit the amount of African-American citizens voting in local, state, and national elections.

This law ensured that African-Americans received the same protection guaranteed to them under the 15th amendment.

What led to a decline in the knights of labor's membership in 1893?
sergij07 [2.7K]
The Knights of labor was the largest and one of the most important American labor organizations of the 1880s. It was founded on the 28th day of December in year 1869 by Uriah Stephens. They promoted the producers ethic of republicanism and demanded the eight-hour day, rejected socialism and anarchism and encouraged the social and cultural uplift of the workingman. In 1880, the organization reached 28,000 members and even gained more members to 100,000 in 1884.  But in 1893, the knights of labor declines its membership because of public pressure, power vested in reformist factions, and employers' unwillingness to arbitrate.
