Instead of living in mountain tops, cyclops dwelled in caverns. They ruled their families arbitrarily. They were lawless and had no social manners. That is why later on this book, they eat Odysseus friends violently and without any warning.

In addition, cyclops disregarded Zeus and any of the other Gods, they betrayed those around them mainly by forging weapons for them.

Cyclops were lawless creatures who had no concern of the world around them.
