The ancestry of the people living in Latin America can be traced in general back to three larger groups, the Native American, European, and Black African. This is due to the evolution and history of the region. The original settlers were the Native Americans, but the Europeans colonized the region later on, and brought lot of European settlers with them. The Europeans also brought Black African slaves with them which they used as labor force. The three large groups, over time, grew over their differences and gradually mixed between each other.
