Importance Of Indentured Servants in the 1600s.
Indentures servants arrived in America in 1607 after the settlement of Virginia company. Indentured servants were born out of a need of cheap labor. The earlier settlers had allot of land but with no one to care for it. There was need for increased labor hence leading to popularity in indentures servants. With this in mind Virginia company developed the system of indentured servitube to attract worker. Indentures servants were significant a result to high demand of labor and cheap production cost required.

Added to this they felt that the British threatened their expansion into the west as forts on US land attempted to support and be at peace with Native Americans.
