M-mobilization, mobilizing armies threatened other nations and put countries on edge. 
A- allies, alliance threatened other nations
I- imperialism, countries greed and desire for more land and power clashed with eachother
N-nationalism, everyone thought their country was best and wanted to impose their will on other countries so that lead to war.
