It made America believe that taking territory from other tribes and nations was okay because it was their god given destiny. This of course couldn't have been farther from the truth as many native Americans were secluded massacred and were stripped of their land by the westward american movement.

By the way a Daimyo is (in feudal Japan) one of the great lords who were vassals of the shogun.
