The impact of the Industrial Revolution in the 1800s caused many areas that were based on agriculture to send workers to the cities and caused an increase in the urbanization.

People were eager to seek better opportunities in the factories, but soon this <em>would be demonstrated wrong since the wages were low and the increasing hours at work made conditions of living very hard.</em>

<em>Even children started to work in the factories as a substitute for adults and further abuse was recurrent.</em>

Most cities like Manchester and London became big and often unplanned growth caused big public health issues.

Diseases spread in part since a lack of cleansing the streets from human waste and complete absence of sanitary conditions.
