Answer: 8 miles per hour (mph)

Step by step explanation:

Given that,

Sam left his school at 3:05

Walked at a speed of 3.2 mph

Al’s speed = ?

AI caught up with Sam 10 minutes later

Speed = distance /time

Sam’s distance

3.2 x 1/4 = 0.8 miles

At the same time, Al runs for 10 min, which is 1/6 hr.

Meanwhile in the same 10 minutes, Sam walks 3.2 x 1/6 =0.53 miles.

AI ran the distance of -> 0.8+ 0.53 = 1.3 miles

According to the above formula

1/3 divided by 1/6 = 4/3

4/3 * 6 = 24/3 = 8 mph

At 3:05 sam left for his school at speed of 3.2 miles per hour.
After 15 minutes, thus, around 3:20, Al started running after him.
AL caught up after 10 minutes later.
Als speed
=> 3.2 mph * 60 minutes = 192 miles per minute
=> 192 miles per minute / 15 = 12.8  miles

12.8 miles /10 minutes = 1.28 miles per hour is Als speed.

The value of a professional basketball player's autograph rose 20% in the last year. It is now worth $324.00. What was it worth
Helga [31]

So what you want to find is: what number times 120% is $324.00. (IT is 120% percent because it is the original <em>plus</em> the new percent) Simply set it up like so:

SN *120% = $324.00

Now turn the percent into a decimal:

SN * 1.20 = $324.00

Now divide $324.00 by 1.20

SN = $270

The original value of the basketball player's autograph was 270 dollars!

Hope that helps!

Round the fraction 7 4/5 to the nearest whole number
Over [174]
Im not sure if you are saying 74/5 or 7 and 4 fifths but in the case you'r saying 74/5 you would first round to see the highest number that 5 can go to without being a decimal. Which would be 70 so you would count how many times 5 can go into 70, which would be 14, so the left over is 4/5 so you would check to see if it can be simplified which it can't so the final answer is 14 and 4/5

Which of the following is equal to the fraction below?
Vesna [10]

In mathematics there is a rule of exponents where we can "distribute" the powers/exponents in the numerator and denominator of any expression. Therefore, given an expression as (\frac{a}{b})^n, the exponent n can be "distributed" as: (\frac{a}{b})^n= \frac{a^n}{b^n}.

In our case, the power, n=11; a=7 and b=4. Thus, the expression (\frac{7}{4})^{11}, can be written as \frac{7^{11}}{4^{11}}.

Thus, out of the given options, option A is the correct option.
