  • The Mid-Atlantic Ridge is a tectonic plate or a middle ocean ridge that is situated along the bottom of the Atlantic.
  • This plate boundary divides the plates of North America and Eurasia in the Northern Atlantic and the plates of South America and Africa in the Southern Atlantic Ocean.

  • This Mid-Atlantic ridge spreads at an average rate of about 2 and a half cm every year.
