Geography is just the environmental features so for example, back in the old day people wanted to live where there was access to a water source and fertile land because they needed to grow crops and have some sort of natural barrier. And nowadays people want to live where climate isn't too cold or too hot as you don't see Antarctica or the Sahara desert highly populated due to the geography (extreme hot, sand, dry land) (extreme cold, ice, frozen water, glaciers).
