Bonjour !!

I- French languaage and Geography

A- Where do Frech student go gor extecurricular activities ?

Public schools offer activities on Wenesdays and Saturdays. Some of them offer other actiivities, depends on the schools. Otherwise, you have to go to the mairie (town hall) to look for extra-activities you could do. Then you may contact sports federation to subscribe.

B- Most buildings in the center of French cities such as Paris don't have elevators. Why is this ?

Buildings wer not designed for elevators

Modern buildings do have elevators. But in Paris, for example, buildings have been built before elevators were created. Lots of "old" (XV, XVI, XVII, XVIIIe siècle) were "hôtels particuliers" (private mansion) ore "relais de poste" ( post house). When they became buildings with separated flats, it was not alwways possible to put an elevator. Those where the stairwell (staircase) was wide enough, they could put a tiny elevator. But in some of them it's impossible. (the building I live in used to be a sixth floor house. There's no place for an elevator ! And I live in the sixth floor !! Pretty nice to exercise !!!)

Another thing = you should check for the Baron Georges Haussmann. In 1853 he did an important architectural work in Paris, and stairs were an important part of architecture.

II- Pronunciation

1- filles // ils // fils // souris // suisse // calculatrice // bise // 6-> six => sound => i

your test might reject fille and suisse because = filles = i + ye // suisse = ui. but we really hear the sound i in those 2 as well.

2- nos // aux // piano // haut // idiot // chaud ==> sound o

3- les // pieds // chez // musée // clavier // et === => sound é hiver = sound è

B- Indicate liaison

1- Vous allez chez eux ===> vou zallé chézeu

C- Draw a line under the syllabes that receive the stress ?

1- tu es sûre ?

D- Indicate elision or contraction

1- Nous allons à la église et à les musées ===> Nous allons àl'église et aux musées.

2- Ce sont les cahiers de le prof et de les élèves. ==> Ce sont les cahiers du prof et des éléves?

hope this will help :)
