The correct answer is B. something is very wrong in Denmark.
When they see the ghost of the late king, Horatio and the watchmen start thinking that it must bring bad luck to Denmark and that something awful is going to happen, which excludes A and C as correct answers. D is just silly.

The best answer for this question would be:

b. something is very wrong in Denmark

During the old times, people believed that if you see a ghost it is thought to be badluck that will eventually happen to you. In the case of the play, it is an assumption that something will happen to the country when they saw the ghost of the old king.

Which sentences from the passage match each type of figurative language?
Elden [556K]

Answer:

Simile - Suddenly, a striped orange cat galloped toward Janine like a racehorse.

Metaphor - Tiger's purr was a chainsaw that sliced through the air.

Personification - After she closed the door, silence slapped her in the face.

Explanation:

A simile, is figure of speech, that makes a comparison between two things, using the words "like", or "as". We can see that in the sentence, <em>"Suddenly, a striped orange cat galloped toward Janine like a racehorse." </em>, that the narrator is comparing how the cat galloped, to the gallop of a racehorse.

A metaphor, is a figure of speech that makes a comparison, <em>without</em> using the words "like" or "as". We can see that in the sentence, <em>"Tiger's purr was a chainsaw that sliced through the air"</em>, that the narrator is comparing Tiger's purr to a chainsaw.

A personification, is figure of speech, in which inanimate objects, are given human attributes. We can see in the sentence, <em>"After she closed the door, silence slapped her in the face"</em>, that the personification is, silence slapped her in the face. Because we can't physically feel and touch silence, there is no way that silence could do the same to us.

Is one character's story more important than the other?
maks197457 [2]
Character, as if the two were gladiators, waging war on the sands of the Coliseum in some winner-take-all death battle. Both sides of the debate claim a definitive superiority for their chosen gladiator, and for the most part, the battle splits nicely down the lines of literary and commercial fiction, the commercialists placing the emphasis on plot in the interest of producing “page turners,” while the literati poke up their noses at the thought of anything so crude and artless.
