Imagine your friend's cousin writes a rebuttal argument to her claim in favor of teens owning smartphones. Read his argument exc

erpt and answer the question that follows: Smartphone ownership among teens is certainly on the rise. Yet there is reason for caution. Teens are showing signs of smartphone addiction. A survey by Text Plus found that half of teens "couldn't live without their mobile devices for a week, while 36 percent said they weren't able to go 10 minutes without checking their phones." All this time on the devices creates more chances for problems. Smartphones and social media have been linked to serious cases of cyber bullying. Some students have been hurt or worse. A school superintendent in California, J. Thomas Morton, sent a letter to parents. He asked them to monitor their teens' use of all electronic devices, as cyber bullying incidents are on the rise. Which of the following is true about this argument excerpt?
A. It is respectful in tone to the audience and supports its claim with specific, credible evidence.

B. It contains specific, credible evidence but uses a disrespectful tone that should be edited.

C. It fails to support its claim with specific, credible evidence and uses a disrespectful tone.

D. It uses a respectful tone but needs specific, credible evidence to support the claim.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! write a persuasive essay on where you want your parents to take you on summer vacation!!!!!!!!!!!
7nadin3 [17]
To write a persuasive essay, you need an argument. Your primary reason for wanting to go somewhere on summer vacation would be called your "thesis." Put your thesis in your introduction, and then elaborate on it. You basically need three reasons, one for each body paragraph, and conclude your argument in the final paragraph, the conclusion. Hope that helps!

So we awaited our turn in the great hall and then we heard the Council of Vocations call our name: “Equality 7-2521.” We walked
Hitman42 [59]

Answer:

I believe the correct answer is A) It contrasts uniform society with Equality 7-2521’s vivid thoughts and feelings.

Explanation:

Even though Equality has adopted some social conventions of this collectivist society (such as using only "we" as a personal pronoun, without the individualist "I"), he still manages to retain the only part of himself that nobody can take away - his vivid thoughts, observation, and imagination. Of course, he can only unveil those thoughts in his secret diary, but he hasn't lost them altogether.

The members of the Council, on the other hand, are silent, cold, and devoid of any observable emotions. Their language is laconic (concise, using a bare minimum of words without any speech ornaments such as imagery). It's as if all five of them are identical, with the only difference being the gender.
