Consider the following: the year is 2020, and you are traveling in a self-driving taxi. Suddenly, five pedestrians step out in f

ront of the car and the only way for it to swerve is into a nearby tree. There is no time to stop so if the car hits the tree you’ll be fatally injured. Alternatively, if the car continues on its current path it will injure all five pedestrians. Should the car prioritize minimizing the loss of life, even if that means sacrificing the passenger, or should it protect the passenger at all costs? Explain and defend your answer. Would you ride in such a car?

Answer:

There are two different solutions.

Explanation:

If you are a selfabsorbed person who cares little for others you will hit the 5 people and blame it on the car and say it was not your fault it is a self driving car and there was nothing you could do. If you are a compationite person you will go and hit the tree and say you rather hit the tree then 5 people hoping the crash would not kill you.

Answer:

He wrung as much water out of the towel as he could before hanging it up.

When she heard the news, she wrung her hands in frustration.

Explanation:

As given in the question, the definitions of the two words "rung" and "wrung" are different. While "rung" is a noun, the word "wrung" is a verb, which clearly shows their difference easily.

Now, the correct use of the verb "wrung" is found in sentences 1 and 2. In sentence 1, the transitive verb is used to refer to the act of extracting, squeezing out the excess water from the towel. Sentence 2 refers to the act of inflicting pain in oneself, like "she wrung her hands in frustration".

Thus, the correct answers are

He wrung as much water out of the towel as he could before hanging it up.

When she heard the news, she wrung her hands in frustration.
