I feel like this could be true for many countries, but I think that the question is best answered with "Egypt" and the longtime leader is Hosni Mubarak (leader between 1981-2011).

But perhaps even better answer is Syria - the leader is Bashar al-Assad, in power since 2000, and before that his father, Hafez al-Assad was the leader for 30 years.

Thomas Edison’s fascination with what invention inspired him to develop the phonograph?
arlik [135]

The answer is a telegraph.

Especially known as the creator of the incandescent lamp, Thomas Edison was responsible for several devices important to the trajectory and development of mankind.

One of the earliest inventions that made Thomas Edison famous, the phonograph was the first machine capable of recording and reproducing sounds.

The telegraph breakthrough occurred while Edison was trying to improve the telegraph transmitter when he realized that the movement of the paper tape through the machine produced a noise that resembled spoken words when played at high speed.
