True because you can say the man is jumping, and that could be literal if the man really is jumping, but you could also say that you’re dying, when you’re not really, you’re just using a figure of speech

Why does Douglass view his invitation to speak on the Fourth of July as an act of tokenism
Sati [7]

Answer: Tokenism is when someone does something out of political correctness or for a symbolic effort. Douglass begins his speech asking why he's been asked to speak on the Fourth of July when the people he represents do not have the rights the Declaration of Independence affords all Americans. He views his invitation as one that was done for symbolic effort to try to show that African Americans are part of America but in practice they are not.

Help plzzzzzzzz I really need help here
ale4655 [162]

Answer:

D. but

Explanation:

Option D is the correct answer.

"But" is the word that best replaces "therefore" in the sentence. The use of "but" is seen when it is used to introduce another statement that is added which is different from what was earlier said.

From the sentence, it is seen  that adding "but" joins the two independent clauses together. The first part of the sentence talks about early photography being black and white. While the second part introduces when the color images arrived.
