President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. He was riding in a presidential motorcade with his wife Jacqueline, Texas Governor John Connally, and Connally's wife Nellie. The president was killed by a bullet fired by former U.S. Marine Lee Harvey Oswald, who fired from a nearby building. Kennedy was pronounced dead about thirty minutes after the shooting.
