Character vs. self I think, but it could be character vs. others.

character vs. others AND character vs. nature

The character vs. others conflict takes place when Kim and Latoya argue about who is at fault for being lost. In a character vs. others conflict, the character is against another character.

The character vs. nature conflict takes place when the rain starts to drive them crazy. When the rain begins, Kim "couldn't stand it anymore." The rain furthers their conflict with being out in nature. In a character vs. nature conflict a character has problems with a force of nature like rain, wind, snow, temperature, etc.

Character vs. law happens when a character goes against the laws of society such as walking around outside without clothes on. This is against society laws because society says that it's inappropriate.

Character vs. self is an internal conflict. This is usually shown through a difficult decision the narrator must make.

The cost of a gallon of gasoline g is $3.25 less than 2 times the cost of a gallon diesel d. If a gasoline cost $3.95, what is t
Rina8888 [55]
2(cost of gallon of diesel) - $3.25 = (cost of gallon of gas)
This can be written down as 2d - 3.25 = 3.95, which is provided in the text.
If you switch sides then you get 3.95 + 3.25 = 2d, which is then 7.20 = 2d, or 3.60 = d.

Now that we have the price of a gallon of Diesel and you can check it buy just putting all the numbers in the equation.

As we see winston sipping his drink in the chestnut tree cafe, what is this scene meant to remind us of?
Salsk061 [2.6K]
This scene is to remind us of earlier in the novel, when Winston saw the thought criminals Jones, Aronson, and Rutherford at the Chestnut Tree Cafe. Rutherford began to weep as Winston looked on.

At the time, he thought they looked old and rough. Now, Winston is in their shoes. He is a thought criminal and has been tortured at the hands of Big Brother. He even begins to weep at the end of the novel, just like Rutherford did.
