Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

I believe the line from this passage that describes the changed feelings of the narrator is <u>"All that had so long engaged my attention suddenly grew despicable."</u>

Explanation:

The narrator, Victor Frankenstein, is describing, in this passage, the change of feelings he has undergone concerning his work. According to him, he is no longer interested in natural history, seeing it as a "would-be science" that cannot bring any "real knowledge". He went from being excited about it to disdaining it completely. That's why he took up to working with mathematics and its "secure foundations". The line that best describes the changed feelings is, "All that had so long engaged my attention suddenly grew despicable."

1. Dalton Conley says that the differences between how black and white people describe themselves are as follows:

a. Black people emphasize their skin color while white people do not.

b. Blacks demean themselves by stressing their classes based on wealth.

c. Black people think that they cannot rise above their levels because they are not upwardly mobile in their thought patterns.

<h3>Why does Conley Believe the Differences? </h3>

Conley believes these differences exist because of his personal experiences living among the black communities.

2. One will tend to agree with Conley because blacks still worship whites, assuming the whites to be angels from heaven because of their color.

<h3>Personal Descriptive Adjectives: </h3>

3. Many adjectives can describe a person. The following are prominent: Persistent, Genuine, Enthusiastic, Disciplined, Straightforward, Modest, and Tenacious.

On the other hand, the following adjectives took longer to think of: Generous, Independent, Resourceful, Courageous, Practical, Energetic, Motivated, Adaptable, and Truthful.

Some adjectives are easy to think of more than others. When you look at a person, some qualities are visible while others remain concealed.

<h3>Racial and Class Distinctions </h3>

4. When Dalton Conley says that <em>“race and class are nothing more than a set of stories we tell ourselves to get through the world,”</em> he means that people should not over-emphasize racial and class distinctions because they do not make a person human.

I concur because race and class are like appendages. People can live without making distinctions based on race and class.

Thus, we can agree with Dalton Conley's expressed opinions in "Honky," noting that "To Kill a Mocking Bird" was authored by Harper Lee.

What arguments were given in favor of war with Great Britain? What arguments were given against war with Great Britain?
masha68 [24]
Do you mean The American Revolution? If thats the case, the arguments in favor it Britain is that they have the the strongest navy, so without the help of the French (including Lafayfette) they couldn’t stand a chance, and the king(King George III) tried to pay the debt, and prevented the colonists (Americans) from going to the other side, so they don’t have to get into a fight with the natives. As for against, King George took too much control, and even made a declaratory law that he could control what happens in the colonies, and that the colonists would have very little power. He was also taxing them, but they were poor, so they rebelled against him. Sorry if I wrote a book. Also, I hope it helps you!

Imagine that you have been assigned a project on biomes in your science class. Which nonfiction text best matches
ra1l [238]

Answer:

Biomes around the world, written by University of Chicago environmental scientists in 2018 for high school classes

Explanation:

This is the best option because the first option was written by a student on a blog and is therefore not as reliable as the second source.

The last two options do not talk directly about biomes, which is what the project is about, making them poor options as well.

The second source is reliable and pertains to the topic, making it the best choice.
