Have you heard of the four field system? Viscount Townshend successfully introduced a new method of crop rotation on his farms. He divided his fields up into four different types of produce with wheat in the first field, clover (or ryegrass) in the second, oats or barley in the third and, in the fourth, turnips or swedes. The turnips were used as fodder to feed livestock in winter. Clover and ryegrass were grazed by livestock. Using this system, he found that he could grow more crops and get a better yield from the land.
If a crop was not rotated, then the nutrient level in the field would go down with time. The yield of the crop from the field decreased. Using the four field system, the land could not only be "rested", but also could be improved by growing other crops. Clover and turnips grown in a field after wheat, barley or oats, naturally replaced nutrients into the soil. None of the fields had to be taken out of use whilst they recovered. Also, where animals grazed on the clover and turnip fields, eating the crop, their droppings helped to manure the soil.

Which political system is run by a group of noble families or wealthy members of society?
klasskru [66]
Oligarchy is the political system that is run by a group of noble families or wealthy members of a society. The term Oligarchy was first used by the great Aristotle for describing the powers that were held by a very small and highly privileged group. These people often misused their powers and treated the people under their rule very poorly and also used them to satisfy their selfish needs. It has been commonly seen that the rulers that believed in Oligarchy actually selected people on herediterary basis and not based on merit.

D. Classes in Chickasaw schools were taught only in English.

Explanation:

The Chickasaw has its territory extended in the southeastern United States of Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. During colonial years, Chickasaw was friendly with French, English and Spanish. Chickasaw allied with the Confederate States of America during Civil war.

The Chickasaw slowly started to follow European-American practices. Later the U.S government took control over the schools by passing “Curtis Act” in 1898.

Chickasaw students were not allowed to speak in their own languages. The classes in Chickasaw schools were taken only in English. Thus the students struggled in schools after the Civil war.
