The L-exclusion problem is a variant of the starvation-free mutual exclusion problem. We make two changes: as many as L threads
vladimir2022 [97]

Answer:

The solution is as follows.

class LFilters implements Lock {

int[] lvl;

int[] vic;

public LFilters(int n, int l) {

lvl = new int[max(n-l+1,0)];

vic = new int[max(n-l+1,0)];

for (int i = 0; i < n-l+1; i++) {

lvl[i] = 0;

}

}

public void lock() {

int me = ThreadID.get();

for (int i = 1; i < n-l+1; i++) { // attempt level i

lvl[me] = i;

vic[i] = me;

// rotate while conflicts exist

int above = l+1;

while (above > l && vic[i] == me) {

above = 0;

for (int k = 0; k < n; k++) {

if (lvl[k] >= i) above++;

}

}

}

}

public void unlock() {

int me = ThreadID.get();

lvl[me] = 0;

}

}

Explanation:

The code is presented above in which the a class is formed which has two variables, lvl and vic. It performs the operation of lock as indicated above.

Discuss the main characteristics of the database approach and how it differs from traditional file systems.
Firdavs [7]

The database system allows the creation of a single depository of information, which is updated periodically and which can be used simultaneously by many users, since this type of system allows the effective sharing of all data stored in its depository . In addition, this is a secure system and is very difficult to break into. This is because of the efficiency of the software used to maintain it. However, the use of these softwares can be a little complicated for users, in addition to requiring a high economic cost to obtain them.

The traditional file system, in turn, each user must obtain their own file related to the application they want to run. This may seem dull in comparison to the database, but it is advantageous as it does not require any spending on software, as it is simple and there are several cheap and efficient tools and editors on the market. However, this system is not so safe, it can cause isolation of data and even data inconsistency, which disrupts the entire system.

Obtain the 10’s complement of the following six-digit decimal numbers:<br><br> 123900<br><br> 980657
zysi [14]

Answer:

876100

019343

Explanation:

10s complement of a decimal number is obtained by the following process:

- Obtain 9s complement ( Subtract each digit by 9)

- Add 1 to the result

1) 123900

9s complement => (9-1)(9-2)(9-3)(9-9)(9-0)(9-0)

= 876099

Adding 1 , 10s complement of 123900 = 876100

2) 980657

9s complement = (9-9)(9-8)(9-0)(9-6)(9-5)(9-7)

= 019342

Adding 1 , 10s complement of 980657 = 019343
