Why did President Roosevelt issue the Roosevelt Corollary?.
jonny [76]

Roosevelt's Corollary was published in December of 1904.

To preserve the Panama Canal and regional interests in Latin America from European intrusion, President Roosevelt issued the Roosevelt Corollary.

What is Roosevelt Corollary?

 • The US "would intervene as a last resort to ensure that other Western Hemisphere states honored their responsibilities to international creditors," according to the document.

 • Roosevelt did not want any European country interfering with the United States' sovereignty in the region.

 • Roosevelt was in favor of putting a stop to foreign aggression that could harm American nations.

 • As a result of the corollary, the United States utilized military action to pacify warring states.

 • Finally, the corollary had little impact on relations with the Western Hemisphere and Europe, but it did justify action in nations such as Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua.

20th century leaders began to push for universal human rights protections as a result of ?
Natali5045456 [20]

20th century leaders began to push for universal human rights protections as a result of the terrors and violations of the human rights during the World War II.

The international community was determined to unite and prevent the things that happened in the World War II to never happen again. During this war, tens of millions of people died, both soldiers and civilians. Large portion of the civilians that died was because of Nazism, hatred, or opposing an assimilation, like the Germans did to the Jews, Gypsies, and Slavs, the Japanese to the Han Chinese and Manchu people, The Turkish to the Armenians, the Bulgarians to the Macedonians, and numerous other examples.

The idea was to form an organization that will mediate between the countries, stick together, and not allow any wars to happen again, which gave rise to the United Nations.
