History

The English language tends to be dominant when compared to competing native tongues, even though English is used as the language that is most conducive towards conducting global business. But the problem in Asia is that the English language is not used or learned with the purpose of communicating with those who speak English as the native tongue, but the English language is not representative or all-inclusive of the Asian culture.

How does the fact that we have a indirect democracy provide a limit of government?
UkoKoshka [18]
So first off tell your teacher that the United States does not have a Democracy, it is the Federal Republic and never was a True Democracy, and that the main difference between a Democracy and the Federal Republic is that Democracy is led solely by the people unanimously voting for laws directly but the Federal Republic ( in layman's terms ) people unanimously vote for the group who gets to vote for the big decisions. Ie Electoral college. However please note that I am no expert and this is highly oversimplified.

However, If they don't accept that as a proper answer then say that it limits some of the things that may need to happen if a large enough group decides that it is unnecessary provided they are in the correct position to push against these things. Ie a war that we are currently not involved in but could become a major problem for us, say a choice is being made whether or not to engage in war a majority group in a big office somewhere in D.C. would be able to come to a decision for or against that action even if it's a choice that ends up being wrong.

Today, government in the United States is most similar to the ( Athenian democracy, roman republic)
Finger [1]

Answer:

Roman Republic, Representative Democracy.

Explanation:

The Athenian Democracy closely followed that of a direct democracy, in which each male citizen was given a voice in politics and was able to directly shape their civilization.

The Roman Republic, on the other hand, followed a representative democracy to a certain degree. In this case, there is a senate, created by members appointed by consuls. This was a indirect indirect representative democracy, in which technically they do the same job as our indirect democracy, but in this case, the people are not given the chance to actually vote for their representatives. However, it is still a form of indirect democracy, and lines up with the United State's current system of government much more better than direct democracy. However, that is not too say that direct democracy is not used in the United States, it is just not used frequently.
