There were numerous factors that contributed to the successful independence movements in Africa and Asia, some of which were the economic conditions of the imperial countries, the formation of the United Nations, the global propaganda and push for liberation and living the people rule their own countries...

After the World War II ended, the imperial countries were in terrible economic conditions. This meant that they had to focus on rebuilding their countries, thus having no power to retain their imperialism.

The United Nations was formed after the World War II, and some of the goals of this organization were the respecting of human rights, living the people decide for their own future, and the abolishing of the imperialism. That was also supported by the numerous movements for independence around the world, the political propaganda, and the large international support.

All of that led to independence of the Asian and African countries, though the setting of the borders created lot of problems for them.
