Because large segments of the populace–particularly African-Americans, women, and men without property–have not always been accorded full citizenship rights in the American Republic, civil rights movements, or “freedom struggles,” have been a frequent feature of the nation’s history. In particular, movements to obtain civil rights for black Americans have had special historical significance. Such movements have not only secured citizenship rights for blacks but have also redefined prevailing conceptions of the nature of civil rights and the role of government in protecting these rights. The most important achievements of African-American civil rights movements have been the post-Civil War constitutional amendments that abolished slavery and established the citizenship status of blacks and the judicial decisions and legislation based on these amendments, notably the Supreme Court’s Brown v. Board of Education of Topekadecision of 1954, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Moreover, these legal changes greatly affected the opportunities available to women, nonblack minorities, disabled individuals, and other victims of discrimination.

WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST!!!!!!! write an essay on the silk road PLZ
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

Silk Road is a system of caravan trade routes connecting Eurasian countries from the 2nd century BC until the 15th century AD - from Western Europe to China. The term “Great Silk Road” entered historical science at the end of the 19th century, after the publication of the book China by the German historian Richthofen in 1877. This caravan trade route was the longest (more than 7 thousand km) in the pre-capitalist era. It played the role of a link between countries of different civilizations and socio-economic systems.

Although the Silk Road routes were changing, two main routes connecting East and West can be distinguished:

- The southern road - from the north of China through Central Asia to the Middle East and Northern India;

- Northern road - from the north of China through the Pamir and Aral Sea to the Lower Volga and to the Black Sea basin.

There were several connecting and intermediate routes between the southern and northern roads. Over time, the communications network became increasingly more dense, including more branches. The main routes shifted either to the north or to the south.
