The answer is: D. Because the companies need to keep prices up

Due to the crops were stronger the fruits start to grow uncontrollably, the fruit ripen and is wasted or gets rotten, all the little farms has many debts for this reason the prices must stay up, so they start to destroy the harvest, oranges are sprayed with kerosene and the potatoes throw out to the river.
