Answer and Explanation:
The most important events in the novel begin whenever Evan claims to hate Jessie when he says, "I hate you". This causes the Lemonade War to begin because of their supposed hate for each other. Jessie goes out of her way to put bugs and dirt inside of Evan's lemonade after the war starts. This is important because Evan finds out. In response to Jessie sabotaging him, he steals her lemonade money. Then, Scott Spenser steals the money from Evan. In the end, both of the main characters end the war by agreeing it was stupid and immature, to begin with. Both of the characters learned that if you are mean to others it will come back to you. You can think of it as "karma" in a sense. So, the characters learned to "Treat others how you wish to be treated."
