You would have to prove that the 2 opposite sides are parallel, use slope formula. They would be parallel because they would have the same slope if worked out correctly, if not, then it is not a parallelogram.

Answer:

The are 8 dimes and 12 nickels

Step-by-step explanation:

1.We set n+d=20 because 20 is the total number of dimes and nickels in the jar.We have $0.05 n because for ever nickel,we earn $0.05.Adding this to the value of dimes, represented similarly by $0.1,then we set this to the amount of money we have in total, which is $1.40.

2.Subtract d from both sides of the first equation to get it by itself.Substitute-d for n in the second equation. The divide both sides by 0.5 to obtain the answer.

3.Substitute 8 in for d to obtain the value or n.
