What restrictions were placed on the conduct of the wars by us civilian leadership
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

The answer is below

Explanation:

The U.S. Constitution, in its bid to place restrictions on the conduct of the wars by US civilian leadership, made a War Powers Act, enacted in 1973, it is a congressional resolution designed to limit the U.S. president’s ability to initiate or escalate military actions abroad.

Hence, the followings are the restrictions placed on the conduct of wars by United States Civilian Leadership through War Powers Act:

1. President must consult with the Congress “in every possible instance” before committing troops to war.

2. There is reporting requirements for the President, including the responsibility to notify Congress within 48 hours whenever military forces are introduced “into hostilities or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances.”

3. Presidents are required to end foreign military actions after 60 days except otherwise Congress provides a declaration of war or an authorization for the operation to continue.
