Answer:

The sentence above is an example of a hyperbole.

Explanation:

A hyperbole is a figure of speech which denotes an exaggeration of ideas in order to make a statement and add emphasis. The difference between a hyperbole and a metaphor or simile is that, even though it also makes a comparison, hyperbole has a humorous effect caused by an overstatement. It is not possible for your stomach to melt you from the inside out. Still, the idea of "melting yourself from the inside out" exaggerates the speaker's eager to eat something to add emphasis to the fact that he/she is actually starving.

Answer:

Madame Loisel

Explanation:

"The Necklace" is a story written by Guy de Maupassant. Having arrived home one evening, Monsieur Loisel immediately told her wife, Madame Loisel (Mathilde Loisel) about an invitation at the palace requested by Georges Ramponneau.

However, this didn't make Madame Loisel happy because all she was thinking was the dress she'd be wearing to the event. She didn't have any dress to wear, thus, she asked his husband the question "And what do you wish me to put on my back?" His husband told her that she could wear the dress she wore at the theater. This even made Madame Loisel cry harder and told her husband to give the invitation to someone else.
