If I am not mistaken, I believe it should be 'A', if you meant "the gold and brown puzzle pieces are on the cats head" not "the gold and brown puzzle pieces are the cat's head".

How did Paul Laurence Dunbar depart from traditional poetry in "We Wear the Mask"?
lions [1.4K]
Paul Laurance Dunbar departed from traditional poetry in "We Wear the Mask". He spoke out against the social injustices and white supremacy. He also spoke honestly about the hypocrisy that he saw around him.  In a nutshell, this poem is a reaction to the racism of the nineteenth century. Paul Lawrence Dunbar is the first major African American poet in America. He was part of the Harlem Renaissance and help lead the way for the later poets of the Harlem Renaissance.

Why does ralph crack the skull of the lord of the flies? what does this symbolize?
jeka57 [31]
The Lord of the Flies -- the pig's head on the stick -- symbolizes evil. This "Beast" prompts the boys to give into their dark, savage sides.

When Ralph cracks the skull of the lord of the flies, he returns the creature to being merely a pig's head on a stick. He destroys its symbolic power. No longer a Beast, the Lord of the Flies is just a pig's skull. Ralph's act symbolizes law and order winning the battle over evil.
