It's the idiomatic language that causes the most difficulty. You have to remember that the audiences that watched Shakespeare's plays understood what was going on. The expressions used were not out of their reach. Consider some of the things we say that are going to make it difficult for students 400 years from now to understand.

1. She is so cool. How can that possibly make any sense to someone who does not know that cool actually means hot?

2. He's chasing after his shadow.

3. They're a match. (Why is that plural and why does it mean more than 1)?

4. He's so smart he's stupid. (Said about any nerd. By the way, what's a nerd? Or what will it be 400 years from now?)
